GSL Education are looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic 1:1 SEND Support Assistant to work with a KS1 or KS2 pupil in a primary school in Sleaford, with a daily rate of £90–£110, depending on experience.
Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEND Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a pupil with specific needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop socially, emotionally, and academically. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies that foster progress and confidence.
Your Role Will Include:
Provide individualised in-class and out-of-class support to a designated KS1 or KS2 pupil.
Adapt lesson content to ensure accessibility and understanding.
Help manage emotional regulation, behaviour, and sensory needs.
Build a trusting, consistent relationship that encourages independence.
Monitor progress and liaise with parents, teachers, and external professionals.
Support the implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Job Requirements:
Experience working with children with SEND in a KS1 and KS2 based school or care environment.
A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to support and behaviour management.
Understanding of SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or similar) is desirable.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
