Job Description
We are recruiting a Project Planner to support our Project Controls team on major construction projects across the Life Sciences, Pharma, and Data Centre sectors.
The Project Planner will work as part of our Project Controls Team on high-profile construction projects throughout the UK and Europe, providing performance reporting and analysis support. Responsibilities include:
* Identify trends and root causes of deviations against the baseline, recommend remedial actions to optimize value.
* Evaluate project time, cost, and quality targets, applying governance controls for successful delivery.
* Collaborate with remote cost management teams to establish and monitor cost baselines, ensuring value for money.
* Guide and influence general contractors to adhere to schedules and cash flow parameters.
* Serve as the primary client contact, resolving delivery and commercial issues, and preparing reports on time, cost, and quality.
* Control costs using knowledge of estimating, funding gates, contingency, and procurement principles.
* Create and manage cost reports, providing executive summaries.
* Lead change management processes, including tracking and approval workflows.
* Coordinate planning sessions, develop project schedules, and define baselines and critical paths.
* Gather vendor schedule data, prioritize material procurement, and communicate timelines.
* Participate in risk evaluations, incorporating risks into Monte Carlo simulations for cost and schedule impacts.
* Monitor project changes, communicate updates, and facilitate change approvals.
* Hold vendors accountable for schedule updates and reporting to ensure schedule integrity.
Qualifications
* Experience in project controls within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or data centre sectors, with expertise in Programme Controls Management, EVM, Change & Risk Management, Planning, or PMO.
* Degree qualification preferred; relevant industry experience is essential.
* Proficiency with tools such as Oracle Primavera, MS Project, Excel, PRISM (Cost Management System).
* Excellent communication skills, meticulous process adherence, and innovative problem-solving abilities.
