Role responsibilities

As Social Partnership Manager, you will report to the Social Partnership Lead and manage the delivery of Transport for Wales’ Social Partnership agenda by building and maintaining productive and constructive relationships with our recognised Trade Unions and colleague representatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following.

· Manage the delivery of TfW’s social partnership strategy, including structured engagement with recognised trade unions and workforce forums to ensure TfW is meeting its commitment to the social partnership agreement.

· Manage and evolve the collective consultation/bargaining processes, collaborating with a range of Trade Unions stakeholders, documenting actions and realisation joint objectives to ensure the appropriate level of governance and productivity.

· Provide advice to internal stakeholders on social partnership principles, legislation, and best practice, providing training opportunities and guidance to ensure colleagues are aware of our commitments to the social partnership agreement and its impact.

· Manage the development and maintenance of key relationships with trade unions and employee representatives, working closely with the Social Partnership Lead and regularly engaging with stakeholders to foster a collaborative social partnership relationship.

· Capture current and emerging Trade Union issues, provide insight, recommendations on approach and next steps.

Who we’re looking for

· Demonstrable experience of working within a Trade Union environment.

· Previous experience in resolving Industrial Relations issues/disputes.

· Experience / knowledge of producing / evolve collective bargaining agreements, its process as well as facilitating dispute meetings with Trade Unions

· General understanding of the principles and practice of social partnership, trade union engagement, or collective employment relations.

· Experience working in or alongside HR, employee relations, policy, or organisational development teams.

· Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
