4 Months Contract with Local Authority Summary The Parks Operative will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented parks service during the peak summer months. This position is essential for ensuring that outdoor spaces are kept to a high standard for both residents and visitors. The primary focus will be on litter picking and general maintenance tasks. Responsibilities Perform litter picking duties across parks and open spaces. Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of public areas to a high standard. Assist with general environmental upkeep tasks as needed. Collaborate with the parks team to ensure efficient service delivery. Adhere to health & safety guidelines and environmental standards. Use vehicles to travel between sites as required. Respond flexibly to changing work demands, especially during peak seasonal periods. Requirements: Previous experience in a similar outdoor, environmental, or maintenance role is desirable. Experience working as part of a team in a physically active environment. Experience performing manual tasks in outdoor settings. Full UK Driving Licence is essential. Basic education (GCSE level or equivalent) is desirable. Additional Information Working hours: 37 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday. Reason for vacancy: Additional staff needed during summer months. Length of contract: 4 months.
