* You’ll be a key member of the team, crafting content, briefing guests and adding a creative touch to bring stories to life on the radio.
* You may also be asked to create digital content, for BBC online, social media and the BBC Sounds rail.
* You may occasionally be asked to cover other shifts on the rota, which could include early or late shifts, or weekend working.
* The on-air and set-up production of shows on BBC Radio Cumbria where editorial judgment is exercised in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial content.
* Use a range of video, audio and digital equipment and information technology to research, write, assemble, edit and deliver outputs in the appropriate medium, to the highest professional standards.
* To prioritise and plan activities taking into account all the relevant issues and factors such as deadlines, staffing and resources available.
* Significant recent experience as a content producer, especially programme set up production, with a good knowledge of production techniques.
* Effective planning and organising skills, ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA :

* A self-starter who knows a good local story and how to find it
* Ability to use technology as required, especially experience of the technology for on-air studio programme production
* Demonstrates a creative approach to storytelling
* Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people, especially the programme presenter and other members of the programme team
