The Contract and Account Manager is a key role within the Adult Social Care Contract Management & Brokerage service, which is responsible for overseeing the delivery, performance, and value of commissioned services across Cambridgeshire. The service works closely with commissioning, finance, brokerage, providers, and partner organisations to ensure contracts are well‑managed, risks are identified early, and services deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes for people who use adult social care services. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of adult social care contracts, acting as the main point of contact for providers and supporting effective mobilisation, monitoring, and performance management throughout the contract lifecycle. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure contractual, financial, and quality requirements are met, addressing issues promptly and supporting providers to improve where standards fall short. The role has a direct impact on service quality, financial assurance, and organisational resilience. What will you be doing? You will manage the day‑to‑day delivery of a portfolio of adult social care contracts, ensuring services meet contractual, quality, and financial requirements. You will act as the main point of contact for providers, building constructive relationships and addressing performance, quality, or compliance issues as they arise and you will be responsible for mobilising new contracts and maintain accurate contract records and registers in line with standard operating procedures. You will work closely with commissioning, procurement, finance, and brokerage colleagues to support a smooth end‑to‑end contract lifecycle including the monitoring of contract performance and analysis of management information to identify risks, quality gaps, or opportunities for improvement. You will support providers to develop and implement improvement plans, escalating risks and concerns appropriately, you will provide financial oversight, including monitoring payments, cost trends, and ensuring contracts operate within agreed budgets. This will involve the preparation of reports and insights for managers and governance forums to support informed decision‑making and market stability. You` ll be someone who can work collaboratively rather than line‑managing, influencing and advising colleagues and partners to achieve positive outcomes. About you You will have experience working in contract management, commissioning, procurement, market management, or a related commercial or service delivery environment, with an understanding of how effective contract oversight supports quality, risk management, and value for money. You are confident working with providers and internal colleagues to manage performance, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement. You bring strong analytical and organisational skills, enabling you to review performance information, interpret data, and identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities. You are comfortable working within governance and compliance frameworks, with a clear understanding of the importance of transparency, auditability, and accurate record‑keeping. You are also an effective communicator and relationship‑builder, able to engage constructively, influence appropriately, and challenge where standards are not being met. You will also ideally be able to demonstrate experience in adult social care or formal contract management although this is desirable but not essential. We welcome applicants with transferable skills from areas such as project management, performance management, financial analysis, supplier relationship management, or regulated service environments, who can apply these effectively to a contract management role. Relevant qualifications or training in contract management, procurement, commissioning, finance, or a related discipline are advantageous, alongside a commitment to learning, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
