In your role of Lead Practitioner, you will have complete autonomy and responsibility for the nursery’s operation with the help and support of an Area Manager and Head Office. You will be in charge of offering high-quality, forward-thinking, and inspirational early years education, and you will need to communicate with parents, local authorities, and colleagues on a frequent basis. The ability to manage and build relationships with people are also vital components of the job.

You will be operating as part of a wider nursery group which is made up of four additional settings.
You will work in partnership with your dedicated Parent/Carer Account Manager who is based at our head office in Cupar. They will support you with enquiries, session administration, contract management and financial administration.

What we’re looking for
· 2+ years’ experience working in a lead role as a Nursery Manager.
You will be a positive role model who is passionate about what she or he does. An outgoing team player with expertise and knowledge of offering engaging, high-quality early years education. A strong communicator with the drive and passion to succeed and advance in your profession.
You will give ideas and an enabling atmosphere for all individual children to play, develop, and learn while working as part of a dedicated, forward-thinking, and creative team. To meet the needs of individual children, you'll be able to create and maintain strong, supportive, and respectful relationships with your team and parents.
What you’ll do
· Be responsible for overall day to day management of the nursey.
· Ensure that the nursery provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
· Ensure that the nursery plans an appropriate play-based reflection of Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition: Being Me, that enables children to make individual progress.
· Ensure the nursery always meets Care Inspectorate requirements.
· Manage, supervise, and support the nursery staff.
· Undertake and assign designated Child Protection Officer role.
· Work with other professionals in the local community for the benefit of children and Families.
· Ensure your staff team understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.
· Take responsibility for planning, alongside your Room Leaders which ensures each child is working towards their early learning and development goals.
· Conduct staff appraisals and supervisions as appropriate and to identify staff training needs.
· Drive your own self development and continuous improvement.
· Ensure that your team are up to date with relevant training.
· Work in partnership with parent/carers regarding their own children’s learning.
· Ensure that health and safety is kept to a high standing within the learning environment.
· Ensure that the nursery environment is maintained to a high standard.
· ·Work in partnership with outside agencies to meet children’s individual needs.
· Working within local and national guidelines such as Care Inspectorate, Fife Council and Child Protection.
