Main duties of the job
General
* Practice independently in accordance with the NMC code of conduct and Practice Guidelines, with appropriate referrals to GPs and other health professionals.
* Initiate safe and effective pharmacological interventions within current legislation and scope of practice.
* Maintain accurate documentation of care and utilize IT effectively.
* Engage in ongoing personal and professional development, facilitated by clinical supervision networks.
* Collaborate effectively with other agencies to meet patients' needs and manage your workload efficiently.
* Ensure annual basic life support training.

Job responsibilities
KEY AREAS
Role and Responsibilities:
* Ensure effective communication within and between practices.
* Identify training needs and pursue lifelong learning, including prep requirements.

Management of Chronic Disease (within area of speciality)
* Manage chronic disease clinics following current guidelines, keeping practice updated.
* Develop and review management plans with patients and healthcare professionals.
* Recognize abnormalities and act accordingly.
* Assess treatment impacts and recommend changes.
* Ensure treatment adherence through holistic, patient-centered approaches.
* Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Wound Care and Management
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for routine wounds and trauma.
* Provide ongoing wound management support, including complex cases like leg ulcers and suture removal.
Patient Health Checks and Contraceptive Care
* Conduct health checks as per guidelines.
* Gather lifestyle information and identify health promotion opportunities.
* Develop management plans for health issues, liaising with other professionals.
* Perform smears and provide related advice, following guidelines and self-assessment practices.
* Assist doctors with coil fittings and follow-up care.
Immunisation (Adult and Child)
* Stay updated on immunisation practices, including managing anaphylaxis and legislation changes.
* Administer immunisations according to current guidelines.
* Handle complex immunisation cases collaboratively.
Travel Health
* Provide comprehensive travel health advice, including vaccinations and guidance.
* Support team planning with evidence-based knowledge and specialist resources.
