Job overview

We are looking for an Assistant Principal to join our high performing senior leadership team to lead on inclusion and to be our SENDCO. The successful candidate will have exceptional middle leadership experience or previous senior leadership experience, and will have or be willing to work towards the SENDCO award.

You will be highly organised, an exceptional classroom practitioner, and effective in driving pupils' progress. You will be ambitious to create a strong reputation for the school, building on our early successes, to ensure that our pupils can attend the best Universities or successfully compete for sought-after apprenticeships.

With strong ties to the wider Saracens organisation, we base all we do on the values Discipline, Hard Work, Honesty, and Humility and we focus on character development and making memories, as much as outstanding academic attainment. Last year, KS4 attainment was in the top 9% nationally, and our contextual value-added places us in the top 4% nationally, and our first cohort of students achieved exceptional KS5 attainment this summer, with 92% going on to begin a degree apprenticeship or university, with 15% going to a Russell Group University.

Saracens High School has a family ethos and is committed to supporting staff in this rewarding job, while recognising the stress it puts upon us. With generous teacher loadings, an on-site gym that is free for staff, the opportunity for colleagues to take family days, and access to a staff counsellor, we do all we can to look after our staff.

Our aim is to develop aspirational life-long learners, who will thrive in their chosen career path, embracing our values, and demonstrating a strong moral purpose and a desire to make a positive contribution to society and their local community. (Hear Paul Dix speak about Saracens High School here ).

Saracens High School is a secondary school that opened in September 2018 for Year 7 pupils, growing each year until being full in September 2024. We currently serve 1200 pupils, including a thriving Sixth Form, from the wonderfully diverse community in the Colindale area of North London, which also has exceptional transport links with the Northern Line (Colindale) and mainline trains (Mill Hill Broadway), and easy access to main commute routes (M1, A1, A41).

Salary: Outer London L12-L16

Start date: January 2026

How to apply:

Complete the application form on the TES website. Your supporting statement should briefly summarise you key career achievements to this point. You should also state in no more than 50 words which of our four values is most important to you and explain why.

If you have any questions or would like a general conversation about the role with the Principal, please email the Principal directly:

The closing date is Wednesday 8 October 2025 with interviews the following week.

Saracens Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.

* Ensuring our schools are orderly, safe, and joyful places where our pupils are governed and guided in their behaviour by fair and sensible principles.
* Empowering our staff to embrace the latest thinking and use teaching styles that reflect the culture of success and commitment to character development, with achievement celebrated as warmly as attainment.
* Retaining a focus on supporting those communities most in need, striving for equality of opportunity for all. Building community hubs around our schools, through mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses, organisations, and individuals.
* Insisting on an honest appraisal of the efforts and attitude of staff in their work and pupils in all areas of their education and school life.
* Creating an environment where all members of the school community work incredibly hard to fulfill the potential of each individual and strive for continuous improvement in everything that we do.
* Placing equal emphasis on character education and enrichment as academic attainment, so that pupils are prepared for life beyond school.
* Creating a quality of life for all staff and pupils that is both enjoyable and impactful, to make memories they take pride in and cherish for the rest of their lives.
* Utilising the networks of the broader Saracens family to strengthen our school communities.
* Achieving our outcomes sustainably, through strong financial governance and protecting and nurturing our surrounding environment.

Our ethos embraces feelings of trust, knowledge, reciprocity and shared behavioural norms that create in our school a quality of life for staff and pupils that will be both enjoyable and productive. Our connection with each other promotes friendships, creates special moments, experiences and outstanding memories. Saracens High School is a place where people return with great eagerness, into an atmosphere of acceptance and belonging that brings out the very best in people, and motivates them to give their very best efforts in the classroom, in their activities and on the sports field.
