The Role
British Vogue seeks a passionate Senior Beauty Shopping Writer to expand and optimize the brand’s affiliate beauty content for the Vogue Shopping team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in beauty and shopping across categories like fashion and gifting, focusing on affiliate revenue growth in skincare, haircare, wellness, and makeup.
The role involves creating, commissioning, and editing commerce content, including beauty product reviews, launch news, and sale event coverage. The candidate must balance editorial integrity with commercial objectives and optimize existing content for SEO and affiliate performance. Creativity in engaging audiences through various digital platforms is essential.
This position reports to Naomi Smart, Shopping Director, Europe, and collaborates with multiple teams including editorial, creative, analytics, marketing, and partnerships to meet revenue goals.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute a strategy to grow British Vogue’s beauty commerce revenue, managing an editorial calendar for evergreen, seasonal, and trending content.
2. Pitch, write, and optimize 8-10 shopping stories weekly, ensuring content aligns with brand voice and drives purchases.
3. Plan content around key categories, SEO keywords, and major sales events, leveraging data and insights.
4. Collaborate with teams to share best practices and analyze performance data to inform future strategies.
5. Stay informed on beauty industry trends, product launches, and market innovations.
6. Monitor retailer deals and manage coverage for sales events like Prime Day and Black Friday.
7. Coordinate with social, email, and audience teams to enhance engagement across platforms.
8. Manage freelance budgets, ensuring ROI on commissioned stories.
9. Identify monetization opportunities and foster relationships with brands and industry experts.
10. Represent Vogue at industry events and contribute to the global beauty network.
11. Lead additional projects as assigned.
