The role: Senior Manager Flight Operations Engineering
What you’ll do:
1. Lead a team of Flight Operations Engineers and Flight Technical Support Executives
2. Responsible for accuracy and content of elements of the BA Operations Manual including Load and Balance Manuals, Performance Manuals,
3. Responsible for accuracy of safety-critical data for key operational systems including FM, LIDO/Flight, FMS Databases etc
4. Set company standards and recommend policies relating to Navigation data, Aerodromes, Aircraft Performance, Flight Test and Weight and Balance related issues
5. Managing safety, risk and Management of Change performance of all elements of the Flight Operations Engineering and Flight Technical Support Executive teams
6. Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory regimes particularly UK & EASA OPS
7. Define strategy in relation to all aspects of Operations Engineering
8. Represent BA at key industry and regulatory bodies ( CAA, IATA, A4E) seeking positions of influence where beneficial
9. Supporting other operational areas,. CLC, Global Ops Flight Dispatch, Engineering, Fleet and Network Planning as a subject matter expert
10. Maintaining 24/7 ad hoc operational technical support within the scope of the Operations Engineering team
11. Will be a subject matter expert and participate in projects on behalf of Head of Flight Technical
12. Develop a high performing team that drives innovation, productivity, excellence and continuous improvement

14. Exhibits creativity, curiosity, and an expanding breadth of knowledge regarding aviation and Flight Operations
15. Experience of working in an operational environment
16. Awareness of the significance of the role in a safety-critical and operational context.
17. Highly IT literate
18. Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations, particularly UK & EASA OPS
19. Project Management skills
20. Clear on what needs to be achieved, brave enough to try new things and make decisions quickly to ensure we can deliver what we commit to
21. Innovate and constantly seek improvements through understanding our customers and the market in which we operate, sharing knowledge and embracing digital solutions to beat the competition
22. Question the value of what we do, aim to reduce complexity and are always cost conscious to ensure we can
Your experience:
23. Aeronautical, Engineering qualification (or equivalent) to Degree or equivalent standard – Essential
24. Knowledge of aircraft systems – Essential
25. Project Management skills - Desirable
26. Experience with Amadeus, LIDO/Flight, Boeing and Airbus Performance tools –Desirable
27. Minimum of 5 years Aviation industry experience – Desirable
28. People Management experience – Desirable
