Job Overview
Due to expansion, we have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant / LSA with experience of working with children with social/communication difficulties in a small group setting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
The role involves supporting students in social and academic activities, helping them become more independent learners, and boosting their achievements. The position requires adaptability and flexibility, with opportunities to work within the whole class, in small groups, or on a 1:1 basis.
Responsibilities
* Implement lesson plans, manage pupil behaviour, and assess pupil progress in conjunction with the teacher.
* Work with individual or groups of children, ensuring they stay on task and complete activities.
* Address behavioural and special needs issues alongside the teacher.
* Assist with testing and assessment.
* Review progress against learning programmes.
* Be flexible to meet the school's needs, including 1:1 support for SEN children or classroom support.
* Maintain confidentiality and build trust with pupils and teachers.
* Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Provide lunchtime supervision and organize play activities.
* Administer first aid for minor accidents, acting on registered first-aider’s advice.
Candidate Requirements
* Child-centred approach.
* Ability to create a structure for children with SEND needs.
* Experience working in Early Years, KS1, or KS2 settings.
* Ability to work under pressure and adhere to timetables.
* Experience with children with social/communication difficulties.
