This is a pivotal role in a period of significant transformation for the Online Finance team. The purpose of this position is to act as a catalyst for change, driving the centralisation of all reporting and financial controls for the Morrisons.com Online business. This role will help carve out a new, dedicated sub-team, refining and standardising processes to create distinct reporting and business partnering functions for enhanced efficiency and control.
Responsibilities
* Leading Change: Champion the initiative to carve out a new sub-team for reporting and controls, ensuring a smooth transition and a clear career path for colleagues.
* Driving Process Improvement: Proactively identify and implement improvements to existing manual processes, reducing administrative burden and enabling the wider team to focus on higher-value business partnering.
* Delivering Accurate Reporting: Take full accountability for the preparation and analysis of all Sales and Margin reports and central Online cost lines, providing critical insights into commercial performance.
* Maintaining Financial Control: Lead all month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely delivery, and maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations to safeguard the integrity of the Online business.
* Mentoring Talent: Directly manage and mentor an Early Careers placement, supporting their professional development and building their capability in the new reporting and controls framework.
* Proactively Identifying Risks: Identify and flag P&L risks related to reporting and control processes as well as within Balance Sheets, and proactively work with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies and safeguard profitability.
* Collaborating Across Teams: Work with the Business Partnering team to refine models, challenge performance, and ensure accurate reporting and controls in place.
About You
We need a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a strong foundation in financial controls and reporting. More importantly, we want someone who is a proactive problem-solver, ready to challenge the status quo and with a proven capability for driving change.
