Responsibilities
As our new Journal Manager, Production, you will focus on supporting external journal clients by ensuring production processes run smoothly, meet agreed standards, and align with evolving needs. You’ll advise on best practices, troubleshoot issues, and provide clear guidance to help clients achieve high-quality, efficient, and consistent publication outcomes.
You will act as the main point of contact for editors, societies, editorial office staff, and suppliers managing queries, gathering feedback, and communicating updates to internal and external teams. The position involves preparing and presenting accurate reports on production performance, maintaining essential documentation, attending meetings with societies and coordinating process changes with internal colleagues and external suppliers.
A key part of the role is collaborating with clients to refine workflows, recommend improvements, and support editorial planning, including issue line-ups. Success depends on strong communication, relationship-building, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal teams and external partners.
