Overview
We are recruiting Counsellors/Psychological Therapists to join the Talking Therapies service in West Cornwall. The post holder will work offering one of the NICE-recommended modalities (PCE-CfD/CfD, Interpersonal Psychotherapy IPT, or Couples Counselling for Depression, Interpersonal Psychotherapy) as part of a team. This is a West Cornwall-based role with in-person work expected.
Responsibilities
* Assess, formulate and implement NICE-recommended modalities of counselling.
* Provide counselling to individuals experiencing low mood/depression.
* Deliver high-quality services using routine outcome measures, evidence-based treatment, and electronic record/data management systems.
* Participate in clinical and management supervision and provide time-limited counselling within service guidelines and referral criteria.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Essential: An approved qualification (at least Level 4) in Counselling or Psychotherapy with a placement of 80 hours or more.
* Essential: Evidence of ongoing Professional Development in Counselling.
* Essential: Must be a member of a professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
* Essential: Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
* Essential: Experience of providing evidence-based psychological interventions.
* Accreditation with BACP or UKCP (or working towards accreditation).
Training & Registration
* Training in a NICE-recommended counselling modality is essential if not already held. Training (if required) will be arranged through the Talking Therapies service and learning provider, requiring attendance and clinical supervision, including competence-based video recordings.
* UK professional registration is required.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required (in line with safeguarding requirements).
