We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively within a pharmacy setting.
Responsibilities
* Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations.
* Assist in the preparation of medication, including measuring, counting, and packaging.
* Provide information and guidance to patients regarding their medications, including usage and potential side effects.
* Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed and manage inventory levels effectively.
* Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care.
* Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Skills
* Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of medication administration practices and protocols.
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and support.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Proficient in using a PMR system - we use Proscript
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
