Purpose of the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with exceptional data analysis skills and an in-depth understanding of the game of Cricket to join our elite Cricket department at Worcestershire CCC. This successful candidate will support the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach by focussing on the 1st XI, 2nd XI and the Academy in creating a highly motivated and technically proficient playing squad. The role will be varied and will include capturing match footage, reviewing the data, coding matches, and producing reports at the request of the coaches. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage the Performance Analysis department including 1st XI coding, the VDCP and any 2nd XI and academy analysis support. This will include training and support to all staff involved in match day camera set up and capturing of footage and data (venue staff, analysts and scorers). • Provide live, in-match analysis and insights to help players and coaching staff make objective decisions. • Produce opposition analysis for all 1st XI matches in collaboration with the coaching staff and team captain. • Provide post-match analysis of 1st XI matches at the request of the coaching staff, team captain and any ad-hoc player requests. • Maintain performance related databases to contribute to opposition analysis and recruitment analysis. • Provide tactical analysis to help inform coaching and playing strategy in first class, List A and Twenty20 cricket. This will include all 1st XI and 2nd XI fixtures. • Be available to support with analysis for any external matches that are played at New Road, if and when needed. • To be responsible for the recruitment, training and leading of interns, as well as building a positive relationship with the local University. • Film and analyse training sessions and provide feedback to players and coaching staff. • To support the media and stadium production teams to ensure that the club are providing high quality and innovative stadium content, streams and social media. • Monitor competitor activity plus emerging technology to ensure the club is at the cutting edge of analytical support. • Provide analysis (footage and data) to the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach to improve the efficiency of any player recruitment. • Assist the Sports Science and Medicine department with any necessary filming and analysis. • Where needed, ensure that any technical equipment is protected from flooding. Requirements Person Specification: Qualifications • Degree in Sports Science, Data Analytics, Performance Analysis, or related field (postgraduate and professional accreditation desirable). Experience • Significant performance analysis experience in elite/professional sport, ideally cricket. • Proven ability to deliver actionable insights to coaches and players. • Experience managing or mentoring analysts, and working in multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge & Skills • Strong understanding of cricket’s tactical, technical, and physical demands. • Proficiency in performance analysis software such as Tableau/Power BI/R/Python etc. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into practical insights. • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and IT skills. Personal Attributes • Passion for cricket and innovation in performance analysis. • Collaborative, resilient, and adaptable, with high professional integrity. • Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and match days. • A full driving licence and access to a car is desirable. You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Benefits Hours, benefits and salary: This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 5 days. This will include working some evenings and weekends. During the busy Cricket season, you may be required to work some overtime and time off in lieu will be given for this. The salary for this role is up to £30,000 per annum.
