DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking to hire a VAT Planning Manager focused on e-invoicing, e-reporting, and related transaction controls/reporting. The role reports to the EMEA Retail VAT Director and is part of the wider EMEA VAT Planning team, with a specific focus on these areas.
E-invoicing and e-reporting models are expanding globally, making this a strategic opportunity to be at the forefront of this critical business area for Amazon. We seek a talented tax manager with experience in E-Invoicing mandates and prior advisory on E-Invoice implementations.
The position may be based in London or Warsaw, with regular travel to other locations.
Key job responsibilities
1. Collaborate with VAT Policy and the central E-Invoicing Compliance (EIC) team to monitor legislative developments such as the EU’s ViDA programme and other country-specific changes.
2. Analyze laws and guidance to draft detailed Tax Requirements Documents and briefing materials.
3. Coordinate with teams such as Tax Engine, FinOps, Operations, and Finance to support their implementation of requirements.
4. Assist with project management of e-invoicing implementation projects alongside the EIC team.
5. Support other VAT Planning activities as capacity allows.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum five years of professional VAT experience in a global consulting, accounting, law firm, or in-house indirect tax team of a multinational corporation.
* Experience with e-invoicing projects or tax technology, including tax engines, with a strong understanding of processes and controls.
* Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex laws and guidance and assess their impact on Amazon.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating legal guidance into clear operational requirements.
* Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with partner teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A relevant law degree, accounting, or tax qualification is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate demonstrates sufficient knowledge and experience.
