Are you an experienced youth worker or mentor with a passion for helping young people? We're hiring an unqualified teacher for a 2:1 alternative provision in Burnley. This full-time role starts in late September 2025. Outdoor teaching experience is a bonus!
Unqualified Teacher - 2:1 Alternative Provision (Burnley, Lancashire)
Responsibilities
* Provide 2:1 teaching support to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs.
* Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each student's interests and learning style.
* Use a trauma-informed approach to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
* Build strong, supportive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
* Where appropriate, utilise our local outdoor spaces as a setting for lessons.
* Work collaboratively with the wider team to implement EHCPs and support student progress.
What We\'re Looking For
* Essential Experience: Proven experience working with young people, particularly those with complex needs or challenging behaviors.
* A natural ability to build rapport and trust.
* Patience, resilience, and a compassionate nature.
* A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
* Experience in outdoor education or a desire to teach outdoors is highly desirable.
