GSL Education are currently offering an exceptional opportunity for a motivated KS2 ECT to begin their teaching journey in dynamic and supportive primary school environments across Gateshead. This role is ideal for graduates with QTS looking to complete their induction in a progressive and well-resourced setting.
About the Role:
As a Key Stage 2 ECT, you will be responsible for delivering the national curriculum to pupils aged 7–11. You will foster academic progress, emotional development, and independent learning while working as part of a dedicated team of staff who share a common goal of delivering high-quality education.
Responsibilities of the ECT KS2:
* Plan and deliver imaginative, engaging lessons tailored to the KS2 curriculum.
* Assess, record, and report on pupil progress in line with national standards.
* Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
* Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure pupil success.
* Promote positive behaviour and uphold school values and expectations.
* Engage in professional development and complete the ECT induction programme.
* Contribute to wider school life, including assemblies, trips, and enrichment activities.
Job Requirements:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve it by the start date.
* Sound knowledge of the Key Stage 2 national curriculum and teaching strategies.
* Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils through placements or school-based training is desirable.
* Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
* Ability to inspire, challenge, and support pupils of varying abilities.
* Enthusiastic, reflective, and committed to personal and professional growth.
* A current Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
