Responsibility for a small portfolio of Audit clients & associated audit workflow, whilst supporting senior colleagues across all audit job requirements, providing a high quality client service experience whilst ensuring adherence to individual job budgets and maximum fee recovery.
About the role
* Ownership of a small client portfolio/contacts for ongoing management and development.
* Collaborate with partners and colleagues in other service lines who are key stakeholders in audit clients.
* Supervise Audit seniors/semi seniors & assistants.
* Support the service line’s business development activities.
* Engage with government bodies and external organisations such as HMRC.
What we're looking for
Job/Workflow & Technical Management
* Ensure the planning & prioritising of all relevant client audit work within own and others’ clients.
* Prepare or delegate key client audit work in line with agreed budgets, ensuring adherence to The KR Way standards of performance, particularly The Life of an Audit, liaising with managers and above on complex areas.
* Proactively seek ways to maximise audit efficiency.
* Establish scope and budget for each audit, briefing team members accordingly.
* Handle complex consolidations, accounts, and audit areas.
* Act as a key contact for outsourced team members.
* Monitor work progress and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Research and resolve issues, especially in complex or high-risk audits.
* Manage instances where work exceeds the client fee, seeking mutually acceptable outcomes.
* Complete audit file administration and ensure files are review-ready.
* Address manager & RI review points.
* Ensure timely billing and keep workflow systems updated.
Client, Internal and External Organisational Contact
* Manage and develop a small client portfolio, maximizing client advocacy & fee levels.
* Act as a key contact for other audit clients, ensuring effective communication.
* Respond promptly to communications and lead audit review and close-down meetings.
* Proactively add value by communicating relevant information to clients.
* Facilitate access and support for internal departments to promote cross-selling.
* Maintain client hygiene factors such as AML, KYC reviews, and engagement letters.
Leadership, People Management and Development
* Supervise seniors, semi-seniors & assistants involved in audit work.
* Set clear task plans and milestones.
* Provide feedback on standards, errors, learnings, and opportunities for value addition.
* Participate in delivering training for new and junior staff.
New Business Development
* Support departmental fee targets through networking, meetings, pitches, webinars, and content creation.
* Develop internal connections to facilitate cross-departmental support and referrals.
