Offer description

This is an opportunity to upskill your knowledge, both theoretical and practical, of English editorial within the context of English language learning publishing. You will provide editorial, publishing and administrative support to the Adult/HE Propositions sector team, so that allocated projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the appropriate quality. As part of this role, you will carry out a number (but not all) of the following activities:

* Provide product development support for the Delivery and Portfolio teams on projects during build and lifecycle stages.
* Support the management of individual components or levels of a course in development, as allocated by the Product Owner or other colleagues.
* Carry out editorial tasks, including content and copy-editing, as required.
* Update or request updates to business systems and product records.
* Check print and digital content at different stages of development.
* Test digital materials.
* Select photographs, including video stills, and provide feedback on artwork roughs.
* Bring added value to the team by taking on administrative tasks to free up other team members, helping them to focus on their core roles.

Successful applicants will then be invited to an interview, and if selected, you'll join us for an exciting 8-week programme starting on Monday, 13^th July, and ending on Friday, 4^th September. Here's a list of key dates:

* 30^th March - 10^th April After submitting your application, there will be a selection period where we review all candidates. The deadline for all applications is Friday 10^th April.
* 4^th - 15^th May You can expect to hear from us with an application update, and if you're successful, be invited to interview. Online Interviews will take place during this period.
* 18^th - 29^th May You can expect an update on your interview, if you're successful you will receive a placement offer. We will ask for acceptance responses by 29^th May.

You will be a keen and enthusiastic team member, able to work both independently and as part of your team. You will be keen to learn new skills and try your hand at a variety of different tasks. To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills, values and behaviours.


Essential

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Keen eye for detail
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
* Ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks and work semi-autonomously
* Good problem-solving skills and logical thinking


Desirable

* Awareness of and keen interest in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Sustainability and Accessibility
* Knowledge / experience of publishing workflows
* Demonstrated interest in editorial work, publishing or communication media
* Experience with educational materials or learning a second language
* Administrative or project support experience
