We are seeking experienced Transport Operations Managers to oversee and optimise transport operations, servicing the UK from our base in Hounslow. In this pivotal role, you'll manage a team of planners and drivers, ensuring efficient, compliant, and customer-focused transport services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day transport operations, supporting over 100 drivers to ensure timely and efficient service.
* Team Management: Lead and develop a team of planners, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to all transport legislation and health & safety requirements, maintaining a secure and safe environment for team members and assets.
* Communication Hub: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and main hauliers, facilitating clear and effective communication across all transport operations.
* Performance Optimisation: Monitor and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), including compliance, service quality, and financial targets.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years in transport management within a multi-site environment.
* Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Transport sector. Management CPC is desirable but not essential.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to set clear objectives, motivate teams, and manage change effectively.
* Customer Focus: The ability to effectively communicate and build trust and rapport with customers
* Adaptability: Highly tolerant of change, with the ability to thrive in an evolving organisation.
