Overview

Join to apply for the 226564 (MG) Radiographer (Band 5) role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious radiographers to join our team in Main X-ray at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The post is a Band 5 Rotational Radiographer – 37 hours (36 hours as of April 2026) on a permanent basis, rotating across departments including A&E, Portables, Inpatients, Outpatients, Orthopaedics, Fluoroscopy, PCO and Theatre. The post provides an excellent opportunity to develop and expand expertise and skills.

As a Rotational Radiographer you will become proficient in all aspects of the above imaging, supervise and train Radiographers on induction, Students and Assistant Practitioners, and work with state-of-the-art equipment.

The successful applicants will be required to participate in days, evenings, nights and weekends on a 5/7 shift system.

Responsibilities

* Rotate in Main X-ray across departments such as A&E, Portables, Inpatients, Outpatients, Orthopaedics, Fluoroscopy, PCO and Theatre.
* Develop and expand imaging expertise across modalities.
* Supervise and train Radiographers during induction periods, Students and Assistant Practitioners.
* Utilise state-of-the-art imaging equipment (including Philips, Samsung, Fuji X-ray rooms and Portable machines; Siemens, Philips and GE Image Intensifiers).


Requirements / Qualifications

* Motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious radiographers.
* Willingness to work days, evenings, nights and weekends on a 5/7 shift system.
* Ability to work with a range of imaging modalities and train junior staff.
