Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. RGN
2. Registered with NMC
3. BSC in IBD/GI Nursing
4. Evdience of further education pertaining to speciality
5. Completed or working on Physical assessment & Non-medical prescriber Modules
Desirable criteria
6. MSC in Advanced Practice or working towards
7. IBD Module Level 6 or 7
8. Completed or working on Physical assessment & Non-medical prescriber Modules
9. Evidence of presentating on IBD at local or National level
10. Active member of the Royal College of Nuring (RCN) GI forum or IBD Network
Knowlegge and experience
Essential criteria
11. •2-3 years post registration experience in GI/surgical/colorectal nursing
12. •Experience of managing own workload and competent in prioritising workload
13. •Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues related to GI/surgical nursing
14. •Advanced knowledge of the GI tract anatomy, physiology and disease processes
15. •Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills
