We are looking for an experienced Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) to join our Ground School. A TKI is responsible for the delivery of core subjects within the ATPL syllabus of Theoretical Knowledge, delivered in accordance with the CAA ratified training manual. Bring your expertise to life in the classroom to help shape and inspire the next generation of pilots, providing an essential part of the Leading Edge Aviation learning experience. * Aircraft Performance
* Meteorology
* Radio Navigation

Responsibilities
* Adherence to the ORA.ATO.110(c) (Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011) and ORA.ATO.210 (Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011) regulations
* Deliver theoretical knowledge instruction across a range of EASA/CAA ATPL subjects relevant to your experience
* Ensure teaching is of the highest standard and in accordance with the Leading Edge Aviation Training Manual (including Aircraft Performance & Human Performance)
* Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and ensure students meet knowledge standards for ATPL(A) exams
* Participate in standardisation processes to maintain consistency through the Academy
* Deliver high-standard theoretical instruction aligned with ATPL(A) syllabus objectives
* Contribute to student assessments, progress testing, and remedial training plans
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the ATO’s management system (ORA.GEN.200)
Ground School
* Prepare and maintain high quality EASA/CAA ATPL course materials, ensuring they are in accordance with the latest syllabus
* Ensure training material remains relevant and engaging using innovative teaching techniques
* Act as an assessor and internal moderator in appropriate subject areas
* Prepare, invigilate and moderate EASA/CAA ATPL Theoretical Knowledge exams
* Provide guidance and support to individual students, referring when necessary to internal experts or trusted partners
* Act as Course Mentor on a rotational basis, supporting and inspiring Ground School students
* Act as Subject Matter Expert in a specific area, coordinating enhancement of courseware and ensuring delivery consistency
Flight Safety
* Champion the Company philosophy of flight safety amongst all students; work with colleagues to ensure high standards and compliance with industry and company safety policies
* Encourage student participation in Flight Safety
Administration
* Monitor and report on students’ progress, celebrate successes and raise concerns as appropriate
* Maintain accurate course records
* Participate in wider company activities such as open days and events when requested
* Attend all administrative, standardisation and Instructor development meetings and in-service training as programmed
* Uphold the company’s core values in all actions and interactions
Core Competencies
* Experience in some or all of: General Navigation, Air Law, Aircraft Performance, Meteorology, Radio Navigation
* Practical aviation background relevant to ATPL(A) subjects or equivalent
* Familiarisation with ATO training programs; distance learning elements are highly desirable (ORA.ATO.310)
* Hold (or have held) an ATPL(A) or CPL(A) with an Instrument Rating (IR), or demonstrable equivalent knowledge
* Completed ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge course or related teaching/learning/assessment certification
* Professional aviation experience or equivalent
Other requirements
* Previous experience delivering theoretical knowledge instruction in an aviation environment is preferable
* Technology savvy with confidence in tech-based teaching tools
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to motivate and inspire others
* Demonstrable alignment with the company’s core values
