Job Description Workshop Technician Dumfries £31,215 - £33,300 Join Our Team Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle &; Plant Mechanic to support its vehicle maintenance operations at our flagship workshop in Dumfries. You'll be part of a professional, well-organised team working in a modern, fully equipped facility. What We Offer 35 days of annual leave (rising to 40 days after 5 years of service) Local Government Pension Scheme Personal Training Plan tailored to your development IRTEC accreditation in HGV and PSV maintenance All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform provided Specialist tools supplied Overalls laundered and maintained Career progression opportunities within our Transport structure Your Role You’ll be responsible for maintaining the Council’s wide-ranging fleet, which includes: Small plant equipment Trailers HGVs and buses Minibuses, vans, and cars Specialist vehicles used in front-line operations Tasks will include scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, test preparation, and repairs in line with Transport and Health & Safety legislation. There is also potential to train as a Class IV, V, and VII MOT tester.
