Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and learning experiences of our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting wellbeing, readiness for learning, and behaviour management.
* Collaborating with the Education Team to remove barriers to learning.
* Promoting positive learning behaviours.
* Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support.
* Delivering engaging enrichment activities during 'Golden Time'.
* Providing in-class support for academic and emotional needs.
* Addressing immediate concerns and resolving situations effectively.
* Creating and organizing lesson and intervention information.
* Assisting in preparing information for pupil meetings.
* Advocating for the ethos of Lyttelton House School.
* Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking pupil progress.
* Enhancing the Pupil Voice initiative in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
* Building relationships with parents/carers and supporting transitions.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
* Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, etc.).
* Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
* A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
