We are proud to be representing a market leading engineering business in their search for a Mechanical Site Manager to work at a Food Manufacturing Facility based in Wakefield or York.
Job Profile
The Mechanical Site Supervisor will oversee the installation and repair of mechanical systems and equipment at an FMCG manufacturing site. The role involves ensuring all mechanical activities comply with industry standards and regulations, supervising the mechanical team, and collaborating with other departments to optimize production efficiency. The Mechanical Site Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring mechanical projects are cost-effective and contribute positively to the company's financial performance.
Performance Objectives
1. Project Supervision: Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruptions. Organize labour, order materials, and supervise projects. Generate mechanical installation costings and quotations for onsite activities.
2. Installation: Oversee installation of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring safety and quality compliance. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues. Have a good understanding of control system and process installation requirements.
3. Team Management: Lead, train, and supervise a team of mechanical fitters, pipe fitters, and welders. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and develop individual growth plans. Ensure safety protocols are followed.
4. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, conduct safety audits and risk assessments, and maintain accurate records.
5. Financial Responsibility: Monitor costs and expenses, identify cost-saving initiatives, and ensure projects contribute to profitability.
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
Person Specification
* Apprentice Trained in Mechanical Engineering/Installation.
* NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SSSTS).
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical installation, maintenance, and project management within the FMCG sector.
* Proven track record of supervising projects and leading teams.
* Experience in managing projects within budget constraints.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical process systems used in Food Manufacturing.
* Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
