Overview
The successful applicant will join an innovative and expert team within the redesigned Echocardiography service at the Royal Free Hospital and affiliated sites. The Trust’s echo service is led by consultant cardiologists with significant expertise in echocardiography and has undergone important changes in the last couple of years. We have Philips echocardiography carts (CVX’s with version 9+ software) featuring the latest semi‑automated 3D and strain imaging.
We provide a full outpatient and inpatient TTE service that serves the Trust’s general and specialist populations. The Trust is a centre of excellence for pulmonary hypertension, carcinoid heart disease, liver and renal transplant services and offers tertiary level expertise in interventional cardiology, echocardiography and valvular heart disease. This is an exciting time for the service, having moved on from pandemic priorities, and we have expanded training opportunities for physiologists into 3D, bubble and contrast use. Responsibilities
The post holder will contribute to all areas of the echocardiography programme and promote close collaboration with consultant cardiologists across the Trust. Weekly educational sessions are an important part of our learning culture, and the successful applicant will play a key role in education and training as we expand our training initiatives.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will already have BSE or equivalent accreditation, significant experience in independent TTE, and a strong track record in education and training.
