Overview
Within Medicine Development and Supply sits GSK's Device Engineering team; an in-house device development group charged with the delivery of robust, patient-centric devices that enable the effective delivery of novel pharmaceuticals. Device Engineering is a multi-skilled team of Engineers and Scientists who work across all stages of the product and process development lifecycle from concept design and selection through to regulatory submission and commercial supply. The core remit of Device Engineering is to ensure that the delivery device meets the following requirements: is appropriate for the drug product / formulation it is delivering; can be used effectively by the target patient/user population; meets all regulatory requirements for CT supply, File and Launch; is robust, reliable and can be manufactured at commercial scales of supply to the required quality standards.
Key Placement Learnings
* Work with device development experts to help develop, model and understand the performance of drug delivery devices in one of the following fields: Human Factors Engineering, Computer Aided Engineering (FEA, CFD, multiphysics modelling), manufacturing process development or device project management.
* Learn how GSK develops robust, patient-centric devices to deliver medicines.
* Working with stakeholders at different levels across the business.
Eligibility / Qualifications
* Currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Human Factors Engineering or similar discipline. You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK or ROI university for the duration of your placement. If you have already graduated with a Bachelor\'s Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.

Compensation & Benefits
Duration: 1 year (approximately). Salary: £25,400 plus a bonus. Workplace arrangements: Flexible working via performance with choice (office & home working may be available).
