Bowker Motor Group is recruiting an Accounts Assistant for their BMW & MINI Centre on Preston Docklands.
The Role:
This varied role will suit an organised individual with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail. This will involve working as part of an effective team as well as being a good communicator.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the ideal candidate will be able to manage their time effectively and prioritise their tasks:
Main responsibilities will include:
* Ensure smooth running of the Purchase Ledger, including scanning, processing and importing purchase invoices, obtaining appropriate manager authorisation and coding invoices to the relevant nominal ledger codes
* Reconciliation of supplier statements to the purchase ledger
* Preparing and posting weekly and monthly BACS payment runs
* Managing the Accounts department email inbox and dealing with queries
* Completing and circulating the daily banking calendar
* Preparing and circulating weekly internal cost analysis reports to department managers to assist them with forecasting and cost control
* Answering the Accounts phone-line and dealing with both internal and customer queries
* Purchase ledger month end balance sheet reconciliations
* Assisting with External Audit requests
* Administrative duties and filing
* Holiday and sickness cover for Sales Ledger
* Ad hoc duties as and when required
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9pm – 6pm with a one hour unpaid lunch break.

* Previous experience in a similar purchase ledger role is essential
* An accounting qualification would be sought after, but not essential
* A working knowledge of CDK/Keyloop Drive DMS would be advantageous.
