Heavy Plant Operator
Location: Southampton, UK
Salary: Circa £35,000pa (£17.00p/h)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established waste management and aggregate recycling provider based in Southampton.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct pre-start checks and operate plant safely and efficiently in line with port operational procedures.
* Operate heavy plant including mobile cranes, loading shovels, and Bobcats to support vessel discharge and cargo handling activities.
* Load, unload, and transfer bulk materials between vessels, storage areas, and road vehicles while maintaining efficient workflows.
* Manage stockpiles, cargo storage areas, and yard movements to ensure safe handling and operational efficiency.
* Maintain high health and safety standards by reporting defects, hazards, and incidents while adhering to port safety regulations.
Requirements:
* Previous experience operating heavy plant such as mobile cranes, front-end loading shovels, 360 excavators, Bobcats, or similar machinery.
* Previous experience within UK port operations or materials handling environments desirable.
* Health and safety focused with strong awareness of safe operating practices.
* Ability to work confidently alone or collaboratively within a team.
