Redwood Scholar Tuition is an independent tuition provider specialising in supporting students of primary and secondary school age in Retford and Doncaster. For over 12 years, we have been delivering English and Maths programmes as well as preparing students for SATs, 11+ and Independent Schools Exams. We believe that each child is different and requires a bespoke tuition plan to help them grow and achieve or exceed their academic goals.
We are seeking a hands-on educator who can not only tutor students but can also look after day-to-day running of Doncaster Centre.
The minimum requirements are:
· Bachelor's degree
· Background in education (QTS preferred, but not essential)
· Some business and/or administrative experience would be an advantage
· Some experience in social media management would be also an advantage
· Computer literate
· Very good communication skills – both verbal and written
· Competence, good organisational skills with "can do" attitude and a welcoming personality
This is a permanent, part time position. To start with, the job requires the candidate to deliver 2 tutoring sessions on Mondays and 3 tutoring sessions on Saturdays (in due course to be increased to 10 tutoring sessions/week) and 6 hours of management/administrative duties per week.
Doncaster Centre operates 4 days/week, one of which must be Saturday. Sessions are 80 minutes long and start at 4:00pm & 5:40pm Monday to Thursday and 9:30, 11:00 and 1:00pm on Saturdays.
Day-to-day management duties:
· Respond to parent's calls, emails or telephone messages
· Arrange and carry out initial student's assessments
· Enrol new students in the system and monitor their enrolment
· Carry out Dyslexia Screening (it's an online tool delivered in the Centres)
· Ensure the centre online planners are kept up to date.
· Ensure that the centres are clean, tidy, well equipped, secure and ready for the next day.
· Provide cover for tutors on holiday or off work with illness (payment for session will be allocated to you)
· Collect cash and card payments (very occasionally).
· Communicate and build good relationships with students and parents
· Communicate and oversee the work of tutors
· Participate in meetings with the directors (in person or online), report and agree action plans if/when required
· Provide any other support if and when required to assure the smooth running of the Centre
· Act as the professional face of the Centre.
Some of the duties can be carried out from home.
Remuneration
We are offering remuneration based on two components:
1) Tuition element based on number of sessions taught per week – from £29 to £41.50 per 80 min session including holiday pay;
2) Management/administration duties element - £4800 per year paid in 12 monthly
instalments;
