Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Principal Engineer with expertise in epitaxial growth processes for Indium Phosphide (InP) photonics applications. In this role, you will drive advancements in epitaxial technologies, contributing to the design and manufacturing of high-performance photonic components for telecommunications, data centers, and other photonics-enabled solutions.
Responsibilities
 * Lead the development and optimization of epitaxial growth processes, focusing on Indium Phosphide (InP) materials for photonics applications.
 * Collaborate on pioneering techniques for wafer growth, ensuring high material quality and uniformity.
 * Work closely with photonics device design teams to tailor epitaxial layers for optimal device performance.
 * Establish robust quality control protocols and oversee material characterization for wafers.
 * Mentor junior engineers and researchers, fostering expertise in epitaxial growth methods and photonics.
 * Manage and direct R&D projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines.
 * Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry standards, and advancements in epitaxial growth.
Qualifications
 * Required:
 o Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
 o 12+ years of experience in epitaxial growth of compound semiconductors, especially InP.
 o Proven expertise in Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD).
 o Strong understanding of photonics and optoelectronic device applications.
 o Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical process control and data interpretation.
 o Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
 o Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in semiconductor manufacturing.
 * Desired:
 o Experience with optoelectronic device fabrication.
 o Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and semiconductor fabrication.
 o Hands-on experience with characterization tools like XRD, PL, SEM, SIMS and AFM.
 o Knowledge of industry standards and requirements for photonic devices.
