Children, Education and Justice Services

Facilities and Housekeeping Assistant at Benmore Outdoor Centre, Argyll, PA23 8QX. The post is with The City of Edinburgh Council and based at Benmore Outdoor Centre. Salary: £25,322 - £25,623 (pro rata for part time). Hours: 20 per week.

This position contributes to the young people’s experience at Benmore Outdoor Centre. The role involves maintaining a clean and organised environment within residential settings, with attention to detail and high-quality cleaning services.


Responsibilities

* General housekeeping and deep cleaning tasks across an expansive site.
* Work efficiently and safely within company policies; seek advice and guidance when necessary.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and well-presented environment for groups and guests visiting the centre and associated self-catering properties.


Qualifications & Requirements

* Experience in commercial cleaning is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
* Ideal candidate is positive, enthusiastic, reliable and a team player with flexibility and adaptability to service needs.
* Primarily Monday to Friday, with an early start from 7.30am and latest finish by 7.30pm; shift pattern dependent. Additional hours may be available to cover staff absence and service demands.
* Due to the rural location, personal transport is essential year round.
* Involvement with protecting vulnerable groups: this role is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required if applicable.
