The role
As a Fleet & Engineering Assurance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Ensuring Fleet & Engineering assurance and performance outputs are delivered in line with contractual and legal obligations, supporting and managing outputs through onsite management checks, guidance and support to responsible Supervisors.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide assurance for the safe efficient and effective operation of all related infrastructure, vehicles, heavy plant, technical equipment, machinery, associated services and distribution systems when delivering a technically proficient and cost-effective service to end users who are aware of their specific use patterns and requirements, as well as:
1. Develop, lead, manage, direct and support an assurance team (Planner, Licensing and Support Administrators) ensuring skills and capabilities are appropriate for roles and individual development needs are identified.
2. Support responsible Supervisors in the planning and prioritisation of Fleet and Engineering work, ensuring the safe and effective deployment of staff, contractors and resources.
3. Liaise, co-ordinate and co-operate with other company resources, operational delivery and management teams as required, including Services and Infrastructure.
4. Ensure all Fleet and Engineering activities remain contractually compliant at all times, and to report any deviations to the Service Delivery Manager.
This role is full time and is a hybrid role with a mixture of working from home and working onsite. The role is based at the Wainscott site however; you will cover another 2 sites within Chatham. This role will also include travel to our RSME Minley site once or twice a month, pool cars will be available to use for travelling from site to site.
Essential experience of the Fleet & Engineering Assurance Manager:
5. Experience working with multi-categorised fleet including PSV, HGV and plant machinery
Qualifications for the Fleet & Engineering Assurance Manager:
6. Qualified Defence Transport Manager (DTM)
7. Qualified Unit Hazmat Transport Supervisor
8. Hold a driving licence suitable for use in the UK
9. Qualified Defence Road Safety Advisor
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
