Job Title: Technical Designer – Kitchens and Cabinetry
Location: Buckinghamshire
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

My client is seeking a talented and detail-driven Technical Designer to support bespoke kitchen and cabinetry projects, turning design concepts into precise technical drawings that guide workshop production. This role is central to ensuring projects are delivered with accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional craftsmanship.

As Technical Designer, you will collaborate with designers, clients, and production teams to create detailed, practical solutions for high-end kitchens and fitted furniture. Working with advanced workshop technology, you’ll play a key part in ensuring projects run smoothly from concept through to installation.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with designers and clients to translate requirements into functional, aesthetically pleasing bespoke designs.

*

Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD software.

*

Prepare comprehensive drawing packs for workshop and installation teams.

*

Ensure designs are practical for manufacture and meet the highest quality standards.

*

Work closely with production teams, fitters, and subcontractors to ensure specifications are correctly interpreted.

*

Review CNC programs prior to production for accuracy and efficiency.

*

Lead design handovers with the production team to support seamless manufacturing.

*

Liaise with subcontractors and purchasing for bespoke elements (metalwork, glass, upholstery, etc.).

*

Conduct site surveys when required to capture accurate measurements and anticipate installation challenges.

*

Maintain accurate project records and progress updates.

*

Keep up to date with new materials, technologies, and design practices.

Key Skills & Experience

*

Proven experience as a Technical Designer or Kitchen & Cabinet Designer within bespoke joinery or luxury furniture.

*

Proficiency in CAD software for technical drawings and specifications.

*

Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing processes, CNC programming, and hardware specifications.

*

Excellent knowledge of cabinetry materials and their applications.

*

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

*

Ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across teams and with clients.

*

Valid UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits.

*

Eligible to live and work in the UK.
