We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Protection service as a Principal Public Protection Officer (Private Sector Housing). About Us Middlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting consumer interests, and supporting a strong local economy. Working alongside other Principal Officers and Service Managers you will take a lead role in our Private Sector Housing team, focusing on the licencing and management of houses in multiple occupation, investigating substandard housing conditions and other housing-related issues, undertaking research and developing intelligence on the local private sector housing market, development of housing support and enforcement strategies, and supporting the delivery of licensing schemes. To be successful in this role you need a Degree in Environmental Health, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, or other equivalent qualification in a related subject, at least 5 years’ experience working as an Environmental Health Officer or in an equivalent role delivering private or social sector housing functions.
