A bit about the role As a Young Person’s Worker, you’ll use your skills to empower young individuals, build their resilience, and ensure their well-being. Renfrewshire Outreach Support works in partnership with Renfrewshire Council to provide support to children, young people who have additional needs and their families within the context of community outreach support. We support young people to access resources in the community such as local parks, cinema, bowling, shopping etc. Support can be on an individual basis, small groups and larger groups. The aim of the group is to provide stimulating activities for our young people in a group setting. You’ll work as part of a well supported and trained team who work hard to achieve positive outcomes for our young people through group work and befriending. How you'll help to create brighter futures Key responsibilities of the Young Person’s Worker role include; Providing a safe environment for them to enjoy time with their friends. Giving families the break, they need to continue supporting their children. Assisting the children in all aspects of their care and supporting their health and wellbeing. Provide children with meaningful and fun activities within their local and wider community. Let's talk about you Ideally, a qualification in a social care discipline but we are very open to relevant experience, rather than a qualification. Experience of working with disabled young people and working within community environments. The ability to use MS Office to record case notes. Excellent communication skills enabling you to engage with our young people and families through a variety of methods. An understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to act upon any concerns. A positive approach, providing a fun environment for all the children in our care. Driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
