About the Role as Senior Principal Accountant Join a dynamic Central Finance team in a large metropolitan council, taking ownership of Capital and Treasury accounting. Key responsibilities include: Monitoring the Council’s capital programme alongside service accountants Ensuring compliance with governance arrangements for capital and external funding Providing technical advice on capital and treasury matters across service areas Managing the Council’s Treasury function, including cash flow, borrowing, and investments Producing statutory documents : Capital Strategy, Treasury Management Policy, Investment Strategy, Minimum Revenue Policy, and statutory returns Leading financial accounting for Capital, Treasury, and Leasing transactions About the role as Senior Principal Accountant Qualified accountant with strong interpersonal and influencing skills (e.g. CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA) In-depth knowledge of Local Government Capital and Treasury Accounting regulations Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and maintain high professional standards Experience working within a large public sector finance environment To discuss this opportunity further or refer someone who may be suitable, please contact Sarah Macrae on 0117 3137110 or apply today.
