The Assistant Management Accountant will provide vital support to the finance department, ensuring the maintenance of robust controls and financial integrity to support overall business objectives. This role encompasses a broad range of finance functions including management information, treasury activities, and maintaining the accuracy of the financial ledger.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage cash flow by posting relevant journals, analysing future cash requirements, and assisting with investment portfolio maintenance.
* Assist in the delivery of interim and year-end statutory reporting, including consolidation activities.
* Collaborate with external advisers, particularly auditors, to ensure reporting standards are met.
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of management information, including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow reporting.
* Support compliance activities by reviewing financial processes and procedures.
* Provide technical accounting assistance for new business initiatives and ongoing operations.
* Assist in maintaining and improving the financial control framework, including reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Help evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls and lead process improvement initiatives as needed.
* Work closely with the finance team to foster a positive and focused working culture, supporting daily priorities and team objectives.
Skills and Experience
* Part-qualified accountant preferred (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
* Experience in the insurance sector is advantageous but not essential.
