For Silver & Green; a family owned, local artisan Mediterranean food producer/wholesaler, on the edge of the Lake district. For this role you will be given on the job training, in order for you to be able to lead our busy production unit.

Start Date: Jan 5th 2025

Wage: £13.74 per hour

Hours per week: 29 per week

Tues/Wed/Thurs, 8.30am – 4.30pm. Friday

Possibility of additional hours on a Monday aligned with future business growth and potential role progression.

Contract Type:

Part-Time Permanent with probationary training period of 3 - 6 months

Ability to commute/relocate:

Work Location: In person, North Lakes Business Park

What the production job involves day to day:

· Working on a fast paced production line as part of a small team

· Portioning olives, herbs, spices, oil and brine

· Use of basic food packaging machinery

· Labelling and storage of raw materials and finished products

· Completing Daily Paperwork

· Cleaning of equipment and work-surfaces

Once Training Period Complete you will be responsible for Leading Daily Operations within the production area. This includes:

· Following a weekly briefing with leadership team, you will be responsible for communicating production schedules to the team through daily briefing

· Ongoing communication with Production Planner and Warehouse Manager to ascertain daily priorities and order of flow

· Ensuring production staff are on time and compliant with hygiene/clothing guidelines etc

· Ensuring that all product is produced to a high standard and within given timeframes

· Ensuring all paperwork has been completed, accurately and consistently

· Ensuring machinery is clean and in good condition, and communicating any issues to maintenance team.

· A good basic understanding of machinery set-up (training given)

· Motivate staff on a daily basis and foster a positive working environment within the production area.

· Work with Technical Manager and HACCP Team to ensure we are prepared for SALSA food safety audits

· You will need to successfully complete a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate for Food Manufacture during your training period

· Once trained you will need to lead basic annual machinery and process refresher training alongside HR manager.

· Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team, whilst also being able to lead that team.

· Manual lifting is required

· Basic Understanding of Microsoft Office Packages

· Ability to adapt to change and be flexible (This is really essential here as we're a small team and a willingness to help out with other departments from time to time is required)

· Due to the location, own transport is essential

· Qualifications are not important but a reasonable level of competency in maths and English is required.

· Previous experience within manufacturing, food/hospitality, or management is welcomed but not essential.

Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: From £13.74 per hour
