As a high performing Metropolitan Council for collection, we ensure the effective processing of billing and collection with regards to Council Tax, Non Domestic Rates, Business Improvement District (BID), Housing Benefit Overpayments and Sundry Debts. Administration Assistant - Income and Billing As an Administration Assistant (Income Billing Officer), you will join our successful Revenues team and take a customer focused approach to support the collection of all income for SMBC. You will be providing administrative support for all aspects of Income Collection including billing of Council Tax, Business Rates, Business Improvement District, Sundry Income and Housing Benefit overpayments including: Setting up new customers and payments on a range of IT systems Processing customer amendments including changes to occupation, direct debits, payment dates and methods. Responding to all routine billing enquiries from members of the public, businesses and other agencies by telephone, written correspondence or electronic means Processing refunds of overpaid Council Tax, NNDR, BID, Housing Benefit Overpayments You will need: 4 GCSE’s A-C including Maths and English (or equivalent), or be able to demonstrate effective numeracy and literacy skills. Experience of working in an office environment.
