What you'll do
You'll work a twilight shift, Monday to Friday, 2pm-10pm, leading a fast‑paced distribution centre operation where you will help create an environment where colleagues can thrive.
As Shift Manager, you will take full responsibility for the distribution centre operation during your shift, leading a team of up to 5 Team Leaders and more than 80 colleagues. You will ensure the shift is well organised, fully supported and consistently delivering against operational targets. Your leadership will drive productivity, accuracy, continuous improvement and a positive team culture while championing a safe working environment.
Health & Safety
Champion a strong health and safety culture, ensure safe working practices, drive compliance with SOPs and SSOWs, identify trends and implement improvements.
Operational
Ensure operational KPIs and transport SLAs are achieved, drive efficiency, identify cost‑saving opportunities, oversee reporting, manage performance issues, and complete operational processes and data preparation accurately and on time. Communicate updates and escalating issues with leadership.
Customer Focus
Keep the customer at the centre, identify opportunities to improve service and operational performance, build relationships across departments and contribute to commercial review meetings.
People
Lead by example to create a positive, engaged, high‑performing team culture, communicate clearly, coach and conduct team briefings, support colleague development, and ensure HR processes and performance reviews are completed on time.
What you'll bring
* At least 2 years' experience in a large‑scale logistics or warehouse environment
* Strong understanding of fast‑paced warehouse and distribution centre operations
* The ability to make effective decisions and perform well under pressure
* Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience managing large, multi‑skilled teams
* Strong analytical skills and confidence using IT systems and data to support decision-making
