We are looking for two skilled Painters and Decorators to join our dedicated Facilities Management Team on a 24‑month temporary basis.
These roles will play a vital part in delivering a planned programme of painting and redecoration across the Council’s diverse and high‑profile corporate estate.
About the Role
As part of our in‑house maintenance team, you will carry out internal and external decoration works across a wide range of operational buildings. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of spaces that serve our communities every day.
You will work across locations such as:
1. Children’s residential homes
2. Bereavement and memorial services
3. Offices and administrative buildings
4. Community facilities
5. Important heritage and historic sites
Your work will help maintain safe, welcoming, and visually high‑quality environments for staff, residents, and visitors.
Key Duties:
6. Carrying out high‑quality painting and decorating works to specification
7. Ensuring safe working practices in line with Health & Safety requirements
8. Working independently or as part of a small team to deliver scheduled works
9. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within work areas
10. Providing excellent customer service when working in occupied buildings
11. Supporting colleagues within the wider Facilities Management team when required
About You
We are looking for individuals who:
12. Have proven experience in painting and decorating
13. Take pride in producing high‑quality workmanship
14. Are reliable, well‑organised, and able to plan work effectively
15. Can work sensitively in operational environments, including vulnerable settings
16. Have good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused approach.
