Responsibilities
The Senior Estates Surveyor mentors a team and delivers a trusted, efficient, effective and value‑for‑money property service across a diverse portfolio, contributing to the Council’s financial sustainability and supporting community development.
Qualifications – Essential
* Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and compliance with RICS codes of conduct and mandatory standards.
* Awareness of RICS best practice and application where possible.
* Detailed knowledge of landlord and tenant law.
* Experience in the negotiation and completion of a variety of agreements including wayleaves, easements, licences and leases.
* Experience in commercial property management.
* Sound negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
* Good understanding of valuation methods and practice together with the requirements of Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972 governing the disposal of land.
* Ability to provide high levels of customer service.
* Good team‑working ethic, promoting positive wider relationships.
* Sound self‑management skills, resilient and able to prioritise a large volume of work against deadlines as needed.
