My client, a leading manufacturing business in Runcorn, are looking to hire a Senior Management Accountant/Finance Manager to join their head office finance function.

What you'll do:
* Oversee the complete cycle of financial reporting and period end processes for a specific business area, ensuring all management information is reconciled accurately against financial reports.
* Produce timely and precise management accounts, periodic reports, and detailed variance analyses for all relevant business units.
* Collaborate with the Head of Finance, Commercial Finance Manager, and other business leads to prepare forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans that reflect commercial objectives and operational strategies.
* Deliver insightful ad hoc financial analysis relating to sales performance, margin trends, cost structures, and challenge business performance where necessary to drive improvements.
* Support the Finance Senior Management Team by maintaining robust financial systems and controls around all activities to mitigate risk of financial losses.
* Ensure accurate revenue recognition and invoicing for third-party activities while working with Credit Control to facilitate timely debt collection.
* Provide comprehensive balance sheet reporting for retail and customer channel activities including oversight of debtors, stock levels, rebates, accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, and control accounts.
* Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors throughout the year by managing audit requirements efficiently for all relevant business areas.
* Provide line management support to one Management Accountant and two Assistant Management Accountants through coaching, development planning, and alignment of objectives with departmental goals.
What you bring:
* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant status with at least three years post-qualification experience.
* Demonstrable experience in financial control covering ledger accounting, accruals management, prepayments handling, provisions calculation and intercompany accounting is required.
* Proven ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting tight deadlines without compromising attention to detail or quality standards.
* Strong background in financial planning-including modelling cash flows-as well as preparing P&L statements and balance sheets using advanced tools.
* Experience translating complex financial data into clear actionable insights suitable for non-finance stakeholders at various organisational levels.
* Track record of developing robust internal controls designed to mitigate risks alongside delivering continuous process improvements within finance functions.
* Previous experience managing staff members including coaching junior colleagues towards achieving shared departmental objectives is highly desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build positive relationships across teams; ability to inspire trust while constructively challenging peers when needed.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite-particularly Excel (including advanced formulas) and PowerPoint-for effective data presentation is expected.
* Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise-level financial systems would be advantageous.
