Leader Education are recruiting an Outreach Tutor to work with a local authority based in their off site hub for 1:1 learning in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate will have QTS or Level 3 CACHE or relevant tutor qualification and experience working with children with SEND on a 1:1 basis. The hub caters for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties in Key Stage 3 and 4 and you will be based off site working closely with students who struggle to attend school or require extra support.
The normal working pattern is weekdays for 5 hours per session - timings based on flexibility of candidate and student being tutored.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutor qualifications.
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, preferably in a tutoring or teaching capacity.
* Strong understanding of SEMH issues and evidence-based interventions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish a supportive learning environment.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
