Business Development Manager – Critical National Infrastructure
Location: UK-wide (Hybrid / Field-based)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Uncapped commission
We’re working with a leading global systems integrator to support the search for a Business Development Manager focused on the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) sector. This is a strategic role aimed at driving growth across key verticals including Transport, Water, and Power.
The Role:
As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, developing and executing go-to-market strategies, and building strong relationships with decision-makers. You’ll lead the full sales cycle—from initial engagement through to proposal development and deal closure—while working closely with internal teams and external partners.
About You:
* Proven experience in business development within the Transport, Water, or Power sectors is a must, you should bring with you a strong network within the Critical National Infrastructure space
* Strong understanding of electronic security solutions (e.g. CCTV, access control, fire/intruder alarms)
* Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
* Commercially minded with strong financial and analytical capabilities
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured environment
* Experience leading proposals and influencing internal teams
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the CNI sector
* Build and manage a high-performing sales pipeline
* Lead proposal development and coordinate sales pursuit teams
* Present solutions to senior stakeholders and manage objections
* Engage with strategic partners and influencers to support growth
* Contribute to talent referral initiatives and internal culture-building
Requirements:
* 5–7 years’ sales experience, including at least 2 years in electronic security or a related field
* Relevant education or equivalent industry experience
* NICET Level III or higher (preferred but not essential)
